Featuring the DanceAspen company in vibrant, festive costumes, patrons can enjoy post-show cocoa and cookies. DanceAspen will take their “Solstice” performance on tour to Lone Tree, Colorado. For the program, DanceAspen welcomes nationally acclaimed and award-winning choreographer Matthew Neenan who will curate a brand new work for the company artists. DanceAspen is also honored to be the first American company to premiere two works by internationally esteemed creator Cayetano Soto who brings his iconic pieces from Barcelona, Spain.

Last year was DanceAspen’s Inaugural Bandstand Gala and it was a smashing success! The event quickly sold out and was touted as the “party of the year”! This year we are sticking to our Aspen Bandstand event and competition but spicing it up with a “Dirty Dancing” twist.

DanceAspen’s Aspen Bandstand Gala serves as the primary fundraising event to carry the company through their third successful season. All contributions will go towards DanceAspen’s mission to continue to bring exciting new choreography to the valley, enrich the community with outreach and education and support the local dance artists who have made Aspen their home.

Join DanceAspen for a thrilling evening of dance with innovative choreography, unmatched athleticism and emotional artistry. A fresh voice and champion for new choreography in the dance world, DanceAspen makes their Riverwalk Center debut after appearing at the 2022 Vail Dance Festival. Founded in 2021 by members of the former Aspen Santa Fe Ballet company, the company features professional dancers from the Roaring Fork Valley and across the country. This performance is a mix of classical and contemporary ballet, and includes new work by world-renowned choreographers, Yin Yue and Penny Saunders.

Making their world debut last summer, DanceAspen has risen as a new collective of professional dancers from the former Aspen Santa Fe Ballet – breathing new life and resiliency into the arts community of the nearby Roaring Fork Valley and across the Centennial State. The company will present innovative new works from their burgeoning and impressive repertoire at the Vilar Performing Arts Center.
